Seeing You Sucessful at Home Business, School, and Cooking

Our School project

By Sher Birmingham at 6:13 am on March 22, 2008 | 1 Comment

After finishing first grade our daughter wanted to start her own business so that she could have money.  I had been hired to keep a set of 3 Chihuahua while the breeder was out of town.  While there my youngest daughter decided breeding is something she could do as her business.  I told her that if she could earn the money for her puppy.  I also would match every dollar she saved with a dollar, and she could pay me back when her dog started having puppies.  I also said I would get the male dog.  Well all summer long she worked.  She cleaned up dog poop during the week at the breeder’s home.  She feed, watered, and played with neighbor dogs when the owners were out of town.  She vacuumed her father’s office.  She saved her Birthday money.  She saved her allowance.  She asked her grandparents and businessmen for money.  Well, sure enough in 4 short months she had enough money to buy that puppy, Jasmin Flower.   She has been our second grade project and will be part of our school from now on.

So I was on the look for a male.  I found one and his mate from another local breeder was getting out of the Chihuahua business and wanted these to go to a good home.  So they come home with us.  Their names are JoJo and Cocoa

Cocoa just had puppies February 15th

We only plan on having a few litters of Chihuahuas a year.  We are striving to breed high quality Chihuahuas.   Apple heads, small size, friendliness, and conformation are all important to us.

We predominantly breed short haired (smooth coated) Chihuahuas, but occasionally have long haired puppies, too.

What is up?

By Sher Birmingham at 4:35 am on September 13, 2007 | No comments

God has put in my heart to write two other books. They will come out themiddle ofOctober. . . if I stay focus. One is a 30 Day Devotional for the Homeschooling Mom. (God has given me 30 days and I haven’t had time to write them out but it maybe 31 before we finish.)

The other is for the Homeschooling Mom with young children . . . something that she can do parts of it with the children. I know she doesn’t have a lot of time to be alone with God, but she needs more than anyone.

Also in my study. I found out these two ebooks are going to be connected. THEY both are used with young children to teach the HEBREW Alphabet! Isn’t that neat? I didn’t know that the 2 chapters did that. They are NOT in the same book of the Bible so I didn’t have a clue this was going to happen like this. I better get back to work on them!

Any way I wanted to tell you what is up.Sher Birmingham, wife to Bill

What is the legend of the donkey?

By Sher Birmingham at 12:00 am on March 25, 2007 | No comments

The legend of the donkey is that the lowly donkey carried Mary to Bethlehem when she was with child and fleeing Herod’s troops. The donkey was again present at Christ’s birth in that humble stable. Years later, he was chosen to carry Jesus into Jerusalem on that Palm Sunday. Alas, the little donkey was unable to assist his lord and master when it came time to carry the heavy cross. As the sad, little donkey took his last look at Jesus on Calvary, God smiled on him for his faithful service. As he slowly walked away, the shadow of the Cross fell across his back and shoulders and remains there to this day as a symbol of his love and humble devotion.

The truth is the Bible does not tell us how Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt nor does it tell us what if any animals where in the Stable where Jesus was born. The Bible does tell us that Jesus rode a colt that had never been ridden when He entered Jerusalem on that Palm Sunday. So it couldn’t be the same donkey. The Bible doesn’t speak of any animals near Jesus as He made His way from Pilot’s decree to Calvary.

The Bible says in Job 12:7-11 “But ask the animals what they think—let them teach you; let the birds tell you what’s going on. Put your ear to the earth—learn the basics. Listen—the fish in the ocean will tell you their stories. Isn’t it clear that they all know and agree that God is sovereign, that He holds all things in His hand — Every living soul, yes, every breathing creature? Isn’t this all just common sense, as common as the sense of taste? Do you think the elderly have a corner on wisdom, that you have to grow old before you understand life?” (Message) Like in the legend of the dogwood tree the marking on our donkey should remind us of Jesus and the salvation story. Again Jesus wrote it in nature this time an animal, but as is written in Job all animals know He is God.

The Bible also says in Romans 1:19-20 “Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (NIV) God makes it easy for us to see Jesus’ work on the cross, by declaring Himself in the plants, animals and all of nature. The truth of the donkey and the marking of the cross on his back is so that no person can deny that saw Jesus and His work of salvation because it is written on the back of the donkey.

Who is Sher and What is this site about?

By Sher Birmingham at 5:04 pm on March 13, 2007 | 1 Comment

Hi, I am a Christian, homeschooling Mom.  I am married to my wonderful husband, Bill.  We have 7 children and 3 grandsons.  And I have just learned that a 4th grandbaby is on the way! (Sadly our dear daughter is having a miscarriage.)

Our oldest daughter is starting her oldest child in homeschooling next year.  You know the BIG Kindergarten.

I have written a few ebooks for homeschooling moms who want to do copywork or easy lessons but want things laid out for them a little.  I also try to find ebooks for the home business moms.   And all of us moms still need to cook and clean, so I bring tips or ebooks on those subjects too.

You may ask why so many subjects to cover in one website.  I ask you do you do all those things?  Or at least 2 of the 3?  So this site is just for you.  One place to find the subjects you need to or want to know about.

Oh and all I write will have God and Jesus Christ all over it.  Now some of what others write that I tell you about may not be so.  I still try to find only what will be uplifting and useful.

Love you,

Sher
